Ian Heystee. Born and raised in downtown Toronto.

I have lived in cities with populations soaring at 36 million people down to villages as small as 2500 people (and most things in between). I enjoy the adventure and new places; I am nothing if not adaptable.

Extensive experience living abroad in Asia, South East Asia, South America and North America. Formally educated at N.T.C.I. in Toronto, at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia and at East China Normal University in Shanghai. Informally educated everywhere at every moment from everyone and everything.

Hobbies include exploration/travel/living abroad, writing, photography, food, aesthetics, sports (playing), scrabble, reading, movies, bike rides and more.

I am a sales and leadership professional, bringing traditional techniques and fusing them with less conventional methods. Connecting with people and bringing people together is a passion. I have a passion for communication and getting the message out. I like building connections and relationships and making sure everyone’s voice is heard.

My experiences professionally, in a volunteer capacity, and personally have shaped who I am - I am curious and ask a lot of questions, I like to know a lot of stuff on a lot of topics because of “cross pollination”, and I like to hear people’s stories and like being able to connect with folks; so feel free to send your story along to me if that’s what you want to do or just drop a friendly note to say hello.

I want the world to be a better place than it was the day previous, and I’m working towards that by ensuring that I am personally better today than I was the day previous.
